So here I sit on New Years Eve of 2021 and I wonder what the new year will bring us, better health? happier times? more group activities together, such as sports, community gatherings? We can but hope that these great things once again become a regular part of our lives and that the isolating behaviours of the past year and a half become a thing of the past.
I will at this point add that the New Year tends to bring new habits for us, or at least new intentions for new habits, so I will offer words of caution to you all – be careful!
Many in our profession see a surge in patients who have injured themselves trying to be too vigorous with their newfound activities, hobbies and exercises, so whatever you do, try to make sure you seek professional guidance (be it from our friend Google, or a one to one teacher) and ease into your new habits slowly, there really is no need to rush.
If you somehow manage to injure yourself and develop back pain, neck pain or shoulder pain, then remember that we at Baks Osteopathy Maidstone are here ready to help you in any way we can, give us a call and we’ll book you in asap.
Best wishes for 2022!
